What does your job at RGU involve?
Background research, experimental design, laboratory work and creating publications.
 

What attracted you to come to work at RGU?
The learning and working environment, the friendly staff and the job is closely aligned to my future goals.
 

If you weren’t doing this job, what, in an ideal world, would you like to do for a living?
Either studying a PhD, a laboratory job involving chemical synthesis and characterisation or a chemistry teacher.
 

What’s your favourite place in Aberdeen/Aberdeenshire?
In Aberdeen the banks of the river Dee: in Aberdeenshire either Stonehaven or Aboyne.
 

Best holiday you’ve had and why?
Amsterdam by far, beautiful weather, plenty of canals for fishing, friendly people and a very inclusive society.
 

Favourite TV show?
The Mighty Boosh, Futurama or House M.D.
 

Favourite band/music?
Generally rock ‘n’ roll, from Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones to Limp Bizkit (Great choice – Ed), Linkin Park and My Chemical Romance.
 

If you’re going to a restaurant and could only have one thing to eat (one course), what would it be?
Carbonara!
 

If you were in charge of the university for one day, what’s the first thing you would do?
Probably panic, but after that maybe overhaul catering choices by bringing back wraps and flaps, replace one or two Costa outlets with local independent companies like Books ‘n’ Beans, and obviously look at establishing a union bar with social nights like a pub quiz and pool tournaments.
