We have students and staff from all over the world.  It’s one of the things that makes studying as a student or teaching and carrying our research at RGU so worthwhile.  Consequently, it’s really nice when one of our lecturers tells us that he has a real sense of pride in the university…

What does your job at RGU involve?
My duties at RGU involve teaching, tutorial guidance, assessment, and curriculum development. I also need to undertake a research project and write scientific papers that are published in peer-reviewed journals and contribute to RGU’s research profile. 

What attracted you to come to work at RGU?
RGU has a good reputation and standing within the local community. I think this is important as it gives me a sense of pride as a lecturer, and it also makes me feel like I am contributing to the local community in some way. 

If you weren’t doing this job, what, in an ideal world, would you like to do for a living?
If I am not doing this job, I would like to become a farmer.  

What’s your favourite place in Aberdeen/Aberdeenshire? 
Crolla’s Gelateria Rosemount  

Best holiday you’ve had and why?
Istanbul. 
Because Istanbul has diverse and delicious street food. Over 2500 years of history, culture, and traditions, amazing landmarks, vibrant nightlife, and breath-taking views.

Favourite band/music? 
Band name: Search. Genre: Slow Rock 

If you’re going to a restaurant and could only have one thing to eat (one course), what would it be?
Qabili Pilao Rice  

If you were in charge of the university for one day, what’s the first thing you would do? 
My priority is to work out a vision and strategy for the University.
