We continue our series of 60 second interviews with a lady whose job is right at the sharp end of university life. Amanda is one of our Student Recruitment Assistants -o the people who help students make the decision to come to study at RGU. The fact that she herself studied here just a few years ago means she has plenty of knowledge of just what a great place it it!

Job Title: Student Recruitment Assistant
What does your job at RGU involve?
My role includes promoting the University to prospective students across the UK and Ireland at career fairs, UCAS events and schools. I will also support workshops in secondary schools and engage with our current students to create content for our target audience.
What attracted you to come to work at RGU?
I graduated from RGU in 2020 after studying International Tourism Management. I have such positive memories from my experience that I would be able to share with prospective students. Also, the beautiful campus makes RGU a lovely place to be.
If you weren’t doing this job, what, in an ideal world, would you like to do for a living?
Be a dermatologist
What’s your favourite place in Aberdeen/Aberdeenshire?
Newburgh beach
Best holiday you’ve had and why?
I have followed Formula 1 since my childhood and I went to the Australian Grand Prix in 2019 where I met all of the drivers.
Favourite TV show?
Selling Sunset on Netflix
Favourite band/music?
Music from Pink or Adele
If you’re going to a restaurant and could only have one thing to eat (one course), what would it be?
Too difficult to choose! My favourite cuisine is Chinese.
If you were in charge of the university for one day, what’s the first thing you would do?
Introduce a Treat Tuesday day alongside Wellbeing Wednesday
