Patricia Strachan

We love finding out more about the people who work for RGU.  The main purposes of our university are education and research and we attract students from all over the world who come to study with us in Aberdeen.  Our Student Recruitment Officers are therefore very important!

Name: Patricia Strachan

Job Title: Student Recruitment Officer

What does your job at RGU involve?
My role at RGU is to raise the profile of the university and increase the recruitment of undergraduate and postgraduate students across UK & Europe.

What attracted you to come to work at RGU?
I have recently graduated from RGU with a First-Class BA (Hons) International Business Management, so I have experienced all that RGU has to offer, and I think it will be a great environment for me to build a career.

If you weren’t doing this job, what, in an ideal world, would you like to do for a living? I am passionate about travel so I would probably work as a Tour Leader exploring the world!

What’s your favourite place in Aberdeen/Aberdeenshire?
I love heading to the Cairngorms in my free time, but Lock Muick is my favourite spot.

Best holiday you’ve had and why?
I travelled to Sri Lanka with my grandparents, and it was such a beautiful, authentic place and the special memories created there will stay with me for a lifetime.

Favourite TV show?
Friends

Favourite band/music?
Foo Fighters

If you’re going to a restaurant and could only have one thing to eat (one course), what would it be?
Fillet steak with peppercorn sauce… yum!

If you were in charge of the university for one day, what’s the first thing you would do?
I would hold a huge social event on campus and everyone would be invited!
