What does your job at RGU involve?
Sourcing and buying IT equipment, software and licenses for the majority of RGU. Tracking and reporting on renewal dates and budget spend to date on a number of projects.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
The interaction with a wide variety of internal and external customers and being part of a large friendly department.
Tell us something about your work that might surprise us?
The amount of people it takes in the background to keep things running smoothly.
What’s your favourite place in Aberdeen/Aberdeenshire?
I enjoy that you can be by the seaside, in forests and parks and at the top of hills easily within 60 mins of the city centre
Best holiday you’ve had and why?
Revisiting a childhood resort but this time with my niece and nephew and doing all the same things I did when their age.
Favourite TV show?
Probably anything Sci-Fi
Favourite band/music?
Everything from Abba to ZZ Top depending on the day.
If you’re going to a restaurant and could only have one thing to eat (one course), what would it be?
A luxurious Fisherman’s Pie with garden peas.
What would you say to anyone thinking about coming to work at RGU to persuade them it’s the right career move?
There really is something for everyone in a variety of roles. The campus is a lovely place to work and the people at all levels are friendly and welcoming (the ones I have dealt with anyway!)
