One interesting thing about all the interviews we’ve posted recently from both new arrivals and more established members of the RGU staff, is the variety of interests they have.  Today’s interviewee is no exception, a Research Assistant in Nursing and Midwifery who loves cooking and is impressed by the range of multicultural shops and food from all over the world that you can get in Aberdeen.

Name:  Piotr Teodorowski
Job Title:   Research Assistant
Department: School of Nursing and Midwifery

What attracted you to come to work at RGU?
Exciting new role…and beautiful campus, perfect for lunchtime walks.

Describe working at RGU in three words.
Inspiring, enjoyable and friendly.

Tell us something that has surprised you about working at RGU.
Superb sports facilities. Now, I don’t have an excuse not to head to a gym or to swim after work.

Describe living in NorthEast of Scotland in three words.  (Or if you are not from the local area, what are the biggest differences between where you previously lived and NE Scotland?)
Charming, sea and mountains.

What are your favourite leisure/non-work activities and how well are they catered for in and around Aberdeen?
I love cooking, discovering new tastes and dishes. Aberdeen has plenty of multicultural shops with food from all around the world so I can always find a new spice which I never heard about before.

What is your favourite place to go out for a meal in the North East and why?
If not my kitchen then I would go to Rustico for classic Southern Italian cuisine. They always have some secret spices/recipes I still have to unravel.

What would you say to anyone who is contemplating a move to RGU to persuade them it’s the right career move?
If you look for a place to develop new skills and never be bored, then RGU is the right place for you.
