Continuing our series of 60 second interviews with staff at RGU. We hope you are enjoying finding out a bit more about our colleagues and what they do at the university, as well as what they like doing when not at the university!
Name: Adrian Rendon Nava
Job Title: Lecturer
What does your job at RGU involve?
Module design, teaching, and research mainly.
What attracted you to come to work at RGU?
The possibility to grow professionally and the diverse and interesting community that RGU has both in staff and students.
If you weren’t doing this job, what, in an ideal world, would you like to do for a living? I would like to invent and repair all sorts of things, which is very similar to what an engineer does 😊
What’s your favourite place in Aberdeen/Aberdeenshire?
I haven’t had the chance to go out much but I really liked Duthie Park.
Best holiday you’ve had and why?
I enjoyed a lot when I went on holiday to the beaches in Mexico with my family when I was a kid.
Favourite TV show?
I don’t watch too much TV nowadays, sorry.
Favourite band/music?
My musical tastes are broad and can range from traditional Mexican music to English pop music to hard rock.
If you’re going to a restaurant and could only have one thing to eat (one course), what would it be?
I really can’t decide between the main course and dessert. Can I have both?
If you were in charge of the university for one day, what’s the first thing you would do?
I’d try to advertise RGU in all the countries where we don’t have students from.
