Lockdown has been hard (at time of writing, Aberdeen is back under it) so imagine how much more difficult it would be to relocate in the middle of lockdown. Then imagine you are young and sporty and want to get out and about. A job with RGU sport seems like a good solution…
Department: RGU SPORT
Job title: Club Development Officer
Describe RGU in three words? Innovative, Energetic, Together
What do you like most about living and working in Aberdeen?
I actually recently returned to Scotland (during Lockdown) so I haven’t been able to relocate to Aberdeen yet. I am so excited to get to the Granite City it offers something for everyone, coastal walks, rural hikes, bars and restaurants and the buzz of working in a historic city.
What is your favourite place to go for a meal or a drink?
I really enjoy a coffee along the beach front and its outlook, however the restaurants and bars on Belmont street always have a vibrant feel to them
What leisure facilities in and around the city do you make most use of?
Obviously RGU SPORT feels like my second home having played out my student days in the games hall. Asides from that, a game of golf with some friends never goes a miss and Aberdeen offers some great social golf opportunities.
What is your favourite trip out of town – where in the surrounding countryside do you most enjoy spending a couple of hours away from work?
Tough one, there is so many to choose from but if you are willing to make a short trip to Cruden Bay then New Slains Castle is a great place for a walk.
What would you say to anyone – at any level – thinking about coming to work at RGU to persuade them it’s the right career move?
Do it, there is so much to be involved in and you will meet some amazing and diverse people. The campus is beautiful and offers a great place to work and for our students to learn.
