One of the great things about our 60 second interviews is the breadth and depth of the interests and the varying backgrounds of the staff at RGU. The last two interviews have concentrated on food: today, we’re switching to motion graphics and videography, with a lot of different cultural experiences plus some Nine Inch Nails thrown in!
Name: Pawel Kuncewicz
Job Title: – Visiting Tutor – Motion graphics & videography
What does your job at RGU involve?: I try to pass my industry knowledge to people interested in design in motion as lectures and workshops.
What attracted you to come to work at RGU?: teaching is exciting! I studied here once so it’s an interesting change of view: now I’m trying to answer the questions I might have had 10 years ago. It’s a completely different perspective of looking at what I already know.
If you weren’t doing this job, what, in an ideal world, would you like to do for a living?: What got me into my field in the first place was drawing digitally in Photoshop, so if I was any good at this I’d love to be a concept artist.
What’s your favourite place in Aberdeen/Aberdeenshire?: Any random cobbled street in Old Aberdeen brings me joy and it seems I still haven’t discovered all of it.
Best holiday you’ve had and why? Hitchhiking across Croatia for the adventure, Thailand for the cultural experience
Favourite TV show? The Wire
Favourite band/music? Nine Inch Nails
If you’re going to a restaurant and could only have one thing to eat (one course), what would it be? Thai papaya salad
If you were in charge of the university for one day, what’s the first thing you would do? Probably commission some huge interactive multimedia display or sculpture of a fire-beathing dragon (hint: don’t put me in charge)
