Job Title: Course Administrator at Aberdeen Business School
What does your job at RGU involve?
I take care of the administration of MBA and Postgraduate Business Management courses. It involves everything from replying to student enquiries, through facilitating marking and record keeping, to supporting the academic staff ad hoc.
What attracted you to come to work at RGU?
RGU’s reputation as an employer-engaged institution and its modern campus.
If you weren’t doing this job, what, in an ideal world, would you like to do for a living?
Be a forever-student
What’s your favourite place in Aberdeen/Aberdeenshire?
The Duthie Park and the Johnston Garden
Best holiday you’ve had and why?
Gap Year in Thailand, and specifically the trip to Vietnam. Visiting these two countries is a brilliant introduction to the diversity of Southeast Asia. Thailand (outside of Bangkok) has one of the least Westernised milieus in the region, while Vietnam strong Ancient Chinese, French, and Marxist-Leninist influences negotiated through local sensibility and national pride.
Favourite TV show?
Attack on Titan, Peaky Blinders, The Tudors, Stranger Things, Chernobyl, Yes Minister, and Blackadder. However, FRIENDS remains my guilty pleasure.
Favourite band/music?
I have not really got a favourite band or genre, but rock rocks. I also enjoy films and by extension film (and video game) music.
If you’re going to a restaurant and could only have one thing to eat (one course), what would it be?
Thai Tom Yum noodles
If you were in charge of the university for one day, what’s the first thing you would do?
Establish an RGU philosophy department.
