Name: Nina Angus

Job Title: Interior Design Course Lecturer (Ad-Hoc)

What does your job at RGU involve?

I am helping the first intake of the new Interior design pupils on their studio day in the Scott Sutherland Building. I work alongside them on their briefs and submissions for this class.

What attracted you to come to work at RGU?
I have been in the design industry for 15+ years, but I’ve always felt like I wanted to help the new generation of designers and offer guidance where I can.

If you weren’t doing this job, what, in an ideal world, would you like to do for a living?
So as well as this job, I have my own design practice, and if I’m being honest that’s what I’ve always wanted and I was able to make that happen nearly 2 years ago.

What’s your favourite place in Aberdeen/Aberdeenshire?
I’m a city girl and love wondering about the centre of Aberdeen, in particular Union Terrace gardens. I also love a wee coffee and cake and really enjoy Grounded, Wild Goose and Cult.

Best holiday you’ve had and why?
I was in Japan last year, and it’s somewhere I want to go back to time and time again. It was a special trip as I was seeing my Dad complete his last major marathon, but in general Tokyo was by far the most unique and interesting place to visit.

Favourite TV show?
I love New Girl but then I also love a True Crime documentary or series.

Favourite band/music?
Biffy Clyro and Taylor Swift – quite different but I’ve seen them both so many times!

If you’re going to a restaurant and could only have one thing to eat (one course), what would it be?
Oh always a starter! I sometimes just order a few starters so I can try a bit of everything.

If you were in charge of the university for one day, what’s the first thing you would do?
Everyone can come to university in their pyjamas, and get a complimentary hot chocolate!
